If you are asked to pay to access an article, you've reached what is called a "paywall". Paywalls pop up when you find articles on the open web, rather than going through the library's databases that the library pays for. To avoid the paywall, the easiest thing to do is use the LibKey Nomad browser extension. This extension will determine whether the article is available from one of the library's database and provide you a link to it if it is. If it's not available from our library, there will still be a link provided that lets you request the article for free.
